Although the city in recent years has taken efforts to make it safer for bikes and pedestrians by eliminating a westbound traffic lane and creating two bike lanes, the bridge remains uncomfortable and unbecoming of the its role as the entrance to Zilker Park. The narrow raised sidewalk is hardly hospitable to those with mobility challenges.
