Take the dogs, APA!
The city is finally forcing Austin Pets Alive! to do its part.

On June 9 the city Animal Services Department posted a notice of euthanasia about four dogs with bite histories.
After a comprehensive review of their records, including bite history, [the Animal Services Officer] determined that the only options available for these dogs are either euthanasia or for a rescue organization to take the dogs to provide the specialized attention and training required for safe adoptions and prevention of future bites to humans.
In the end, Austin Pets Alive! took the dogs.
Assuming that APA! can actually provide the "specialized attention and training" to ensure the dogs don't attack again, this is a good outcome for City of Austin taxpayers. The overcrowding at the city shelter is a mess largely created by APA!, so it's time they do more to help.
