The Brodie Oaks PUD is approved
Turning a shopping mall into a city.
OK folks, as of press time City Council still had not acted on the police oversight resolution, so I'll fill you in on that Monday.
City Council unanimously approved the long-anticipated Brodie Oaks PUD this afternoon, authorizing developer Barshop & Oles to redevelop the 42-year-old shopping center at the intersection of S. Lamar & Ben White Blvd into a dense, mixed-use neighborhood with lots of green space.
Or, as James Rambin of Towers Austin put it: "transforming Brodie Oaks from shopping center to city."
