A third tax plan
Four CMs try to offer a middle path.
Yesterday a third group of Council members released a proposed tax & spending plan that would result in a 5.75¢ tax increase if approved by voters in November.
The plan from Zo Qadri, Paige Ellis, Krista Laine and Mike Siegel comes in between the 3.5¢ plan offered by Mayor Kirk Watson and the 6.75¢ plan proposed last week by another group: Ryan Alter, Vanessa Fuentes, Chito Vela and Jose Velasquez.
For simplicity's sake, the three plans will henceforth be referred to as the Zo plan, the Alter plan and the Watson plan. My apologies to anyone else involved in crafting the plans.
This is a reminder of the taxpayer impact of each "penny" of tax rate increase.
