Privacy or an unburgled car?
Nobody on City Council appears interested in opposing the ordinance Mayor Kirk Watson has proposed to establish a recurring "efficiency assessment" of city government. But there are clearly concerns that the audit won't end up being very useful.
At a work session on Tuesday, Council members repeatedly asked some version of the same question: "How do we know it's gonna work?"

The short answer, expressed in various terms by City Auditor Jason Hadavi, is that there is no way to know if the people you hire will do a good job. This is not just true of public sector consultants, of course.
