Are purple pipes worth it?
Drinking toilet water may be better.
Today I noticed that everyone on the City Council dais was wearing purple. I asked someone what that was about and was told it was honor of purple pipes. Really?
Actually, it was because of International Women's Day, which is tomorrow. But an ordinance requiring large developments to implement purple piping systems was embraced with similar unanimity.
Which is sort of surprising, because behind-the-scenes there was much hand-wringing from developers and urbanists over the significant cost the ordinance will impose on new housing.
