Trails are the way to go
And Cap Metro unveils an overdue change.
This weekend the latest phase of the Waterloo Greenway is opening:

The Waterloo Greenway, formerly the Waller Creek Chain of Parks, has not been without controversy, but it's undoubtedly a net positive for the city. What used to be a really bummer creek is being transformed into both a very convenient form of pedestrian/bike infrastructure that connects a series of attractive public spaces. It is being built by a combination of public and private funds.
Bike lanes and sidewalks are important, of course, but I think Austin more than any other city shows how greatly people desire urban trails that offer a refuge from the road.
